The latest vax facts – you can book your booster now

Whether you need your first, second or third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine you can book in at the pharmacy now. All vaccines presently available in Australia are effective at preventing the serious consequences of Covid-19.

We have plentiful supplies; and we are vaccinating at the pharmacy Monday to Friday.

Phone or email us to make a booking with one of our vaccinating pharmacists.

Covid-19 is now considered endemic in the community; that is, the virus will continue to circulate for the foreseeable future just like viruses that cause the common cold and the flu. Vaccination will be necessary for protection; but masks and regular hygiene measures, such as hand washing and sanitising, will also continue to be important.

Check-out our range of masks. We have them in all shapes and sizes for the most comfortable fit.

And remember, covid-19 and influenza vaccines are not the only vaccines we can offer. We can provide the combination Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (whooping cough), and the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) as well.

Sniffing out a cure for hay fever

Spring and summer time are traditionally the peak times for hay fever; and the era of covid-19 will be no exception. We can’t cure hay fever, but we can certainly control it. We’ve got a solution for every nose. Ask one of our pharmacists for advice.

Remember, we deliver prescription medicines every weekday throughout the eastern suburbs. Phone, fax or email and tell us what you need.

Spring-clean your home first aid kit

We might get a few more cool days before the end of the year, but, according to the calendar, spring has well and truly sprung. So, now’s a good time to clean out all those out-of-date, useless or ineffective products from your first-aid kit. You don’t need to be a boy scout or a girl guide to be well prepared for all those little spring and summer time holiday accidents and incidents.

Also important is the need to protect ourselves, our families and our pets from tick bite.  In humans, tick bites are the cause of the potentially very serious mammalian meat allergy.

Best advice is not to use tweezers to remove ticks. For small ticks, or if children are bitten, apply Lyclear cream; that is dab, don’t grab. For large ticks apply a freeze spray such as those to remove warts or skin tags. In other words: freeze, don’t squeeze.

New to the market and designed specifically to freeze your ticks off is Tick Tox spray.

Around Sydney, the northern beaches are a recognised tick area; but, in fact, everywhere along the eastern seaboard of Australia is a happy habitat for ticks. And that especially applies to Centennial Park. So, make sure you have Tick Tox and Lyclear in your home and/or travel first aid kit

Sun protection – we’ve got the right product for every body

It’s time to check you have adequate supply of the most appropriate sunscreen. It should definitely be a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ product.

As well as the all-Australian Ego sunscreens, we now have the number one European sunscreen range from Avene, the newly released La Roche-Posay range (currently offering a great introductory gift-with-purchase) and the popular moisturising Cetaphil sunscreens. We also keep the Bondi Sands range of “self-tanning” products.
